When
it originally debuted on the video game scene in 1997,
'Tekken' stood out as one of the first dedicated martial arts
games and achieved notoriety thanks to realistically produced
fighting techniques immersed in a fully 3d environment.
Now in it's fourth incarnation, the series is still as
successful as ever thanks to it's finely tuned gameplay and
consistently high quality graphics. For this particular
outing, the character models are nothing short of superb and
there are a wealth of fighters (some new and some tweaked) to
choose from that all specialise in a particular brand of
martial art. Seasoned veterans of the game may find it a
little on the easy side but there are still enough extras
(such as the Tekken Force mode) to keep it interesting.
Asian movie fans may also get a kick from the similarities
between the games' characters and the likes of Bruce Lee and
Jackie Chan.
