Sing
(Chow) is one of the top policemen on the force but still
lacks the skills needed in team exercises. The
commissioner approaches him to go to undercover in a school
where some pupils have stolen his gun (not just any old gun,
it's his favourite one). Sing hated school so for him it
is like the return to the depths of hell and he struggles to
blend in. Whilst hot on the trail of the missing gun
Sing discovers a weapon smuggling ring run by the Triads and,
with the help of his fellow pupils, aims to bring them to
justice.

This
action/comedy affair from the early 90s is an excellent
vehicle for all concerned. From it's opening parody of
a police training exercise to the blistering gun battle
with the Triads, 'Fight Back To School' is an extremely
enjoyable and well put together production. It showcases
Chow's comedic talents perfectly as well as bolstering his
partnership with Ng Man Tat that, by this stage, is so finely
tuned that they can do the routines blindfolded and still come up
with some of the funniest footage around. It's also
worth noting that Chow is a trained martial artist and finally
gets the chance to show off some of his nifty footwork in this
role.
If
you're tired of the same old action movies and fancy a little
humour in between the mix then this is the film for you.
It firmly established Chow's status as the king of
Canto-comedy and definitely deserves five stars.
