Sing Chi returns as Sing in this sequel to his 1991 hit.
His performance in the line of duty should have earned him a
promotion but his cockiness in front of his superior results
in a demotion to traffic duty. It doesn't help matters
when his old partner (Ng Man Tat) ends up as a higher ranking
officer despite his obvious yellow streak. The laughing
stock of the police force, Sing discovers an undercover
operation within a school involving terrorists and decides to
enlist the help of his old school chums to help him solve the
case. Back in the classroom, Sing once again
demonstrates his talents at wreaking havoc in the playground
and annoying the hell out of the teachers.

Although
lacking the originality of the first film, 'Fight Back to
School 2' still manages to recapture some of that old magic.
This time around the emphasis is mainly on the comic elements
as it appeared that this was the source of Chow's success.
The main problems really lie in the plot as it was always
going to be hard to make a second film without repeating
yourself or moving completely away from the subject material.
They choose to forge ahead with a valiant attempt at
recreating more crazy classroom anecdotes and luckily, the
star power and some amusing set-pieces manage to stop it from
becoming a re-hash of the first movie.
Overall,
although it was never going to live up to the standards set by
it's predecessor, this is still a brave attempt and contains
some classic moments of hilarity. It's better than most
but nowhere near the top of the pile.
