Kong Legends

Picture:
2.35:1
anamorphic widescreen. Great picture for a film that is now
nearly 20 years old and undoubtedly the best it has ever
looked. The previous Megastar release looked good, but if
for some reason you don’t already own this film, there is
now no excuse!

Full
Length Audio Commentary by Bey Logan. As usual, the
commentary is informative and enthusiastically presented and
will provide even seasoned HK enthusiasts with some new
information.
Interview
with Yuen Biao in which he talks about his life in the
industry in general. As with his frequent screen persona,
Biao comes across as a very friendly, likeable person, and
it is nice to see an up to date interview with my favourite
star.
Interview
with Lee Hoi San. A shorter interview, but informative
nonetheless. Lee comes across as a much friendlier person
than his villainous screen characters and ends the
discussion with a short Wing Chun Form demo.
Interview
with Dick Wei. This is a very good interview as it is rare
to see Wei away from the set, and he talks openly about both
this film and others he has worked on giving a few amusing
anecdotes. Interspersed with the discussion are short clips
of him in action and a short sparring session with what
looks like Jude Poyer in Wei’s own garden.
Interview
with Mars. Mars is undoubtedly the most famous stunt
performer who has consistently remained behind the scenes
for a number of decades. Unlike the big stars who moved into
directing and producing, Mars has stayed loyal to Jackie and
is still with him today. The interview is short, but still a
nice addition to an already packed disc.
Music
Featurette with Michael Lai. Lai is a frequent composer on
Jackie’s and other HK films. It is nice to see that the
score of Project A, which fits the film so well has not been
ignored.
Documentary
about Project A hosted by Bey Logan running at well over an
hour and covers all aspects of the production with interview
clips from all major participants.
